What Does Your Handwriting Say About You?
Oct 17, 2016
Did you know that your handwriting can reveal a lot about your personality? It's true! The spacing between words, the size and shapes of the letters, and still other characteristics can all indicate certain aspects of the writer's personality. Handwriting analysts, or graphologists, can even identify dishonesty and certain health ailments based on your writing style.
So what does your handwriting say about you? To find out, consider the following.
Handwriting tends to slant to the right or left, but in some cases it may not have a slant at all. When the latter occurs, you're more likely to be practical and logical, even guarded in your emotions. If your writing slants to the right, you're more open and love socializing. When it slants to the left, you're more of a behind-the-scenes person who likes to work alone.
Loops and Points
Analysts can uncover a lot about your personality by the way you craft loops in your Ls and Es. A closed L loop where the upstroke overlaps the downstroke implies that you're tense or feeling restricted. A full L loop is more expressive and indicates that you're relaxed and spontaneous. If you write your Es with a closed loop, it generally means that you're a skeptic and not likely swayed by emotional arguments.
Similarly, how pointed a cursive S is can say a lot about you. A pointed S with a high peak suggests that you're ambitious and enjoy studying new things. When it's more rounded, you're open to compromise and like to avoid confrontation. A cursive S that's open at the bottom could indicate that you're not following your heart.
If you're the type of person who writes large letters, you likely have a big personality. Large handwriting indicates an outgoing writer who enjoys being the center of attention. On the other hand, when your handwriting is small, you're more focused, shy, and introspective. Average-size letters mean that you're adaptable and well adjusted.
Look at the spacing between words when you write a sentence. If there's a lot of extra space between each word, you tend to enjoy freedom and don't like to feel crowded. On the other hand, narrow space between words indicates that you can't stand to be alone. You may come across as intrusive and tend to crowd people.
You can tell a lot about a person by how he or she dots an i. If the dot is high over the letter, you likely have a great imagination. If the dot is a circle, you're more child-like and visionary. Dots that show up to the left of the i indicate that you're a procrastinator, whereas dots to the right suggest that you're organized, empathic, and detail-oriented. When the dots are barely visible, you're probably tired or even ill.
